A group of tourists with mental health features from Nizhny Novgorod visited Vyksa on an excursion. This became the first event of its kind within the framework of the initiative to develop the Resource Center for Socio-Cultural Inclusion. The project is implemented with the support of the charitable foundation "OMK-Participation" and the Presidential Grants Foundation.

Eighteen people took part in the trip. They were provided with free transportation, a guided tour of Workshop No. 3 of the Vyksa OMK plant, a visit to a museum, and a lunch in a historical style that recreates the atmosphere of the Batashev brothers' era.

The group was helped to form by Marina Anisimova, director of the Center for Inclusive Tourism and Social Adaptation "Without Borders." She is also a participant in the "Leaders of Limitless Opportunities" project — Russia's first community of inclusive leaders established at the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

"When I saw the invitation to Vyksa, I immediately booked two dates. There are many people interested, even for paid trips. But here we had a unique opportunity — to go for free. There are still very few professionally adapted excursions for people with disabilities in Russia. And for people with mental health features, such routes are extremely challenging. Thank you for this experience; it’s really wonderful. And a special thanks for the desire to develop inclusive tourism. People with disabilities love to travel and want to do so. We, as organizers, try to adapt programs, but when the host side creates such conditions — that’s true happiness," shared Marina Anisimova.

The next group from Nizhny Novgorod will arrive in Vyksa on July 31. Overall, the project plans to organize at least ten free trips for tourists with disabilities from Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, and Ryazan regions.

"Our goal is for every person to feel the joy of life in all its diversity. We pay special attention to accessibility and safety, especially on the enterprise premises. It is important that the project allows sharing experiences, telling about Vyksa, and improving routes based on the opinions of the participants themselves. We listen carefully to feedback, analyze it, and together create a space filled with inspiration, joy, and discoveries," said Karina Krokhina, head of the Resource Center for Socio-Cultural Inclusion.
