Incidents The Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated a criminal case following reports of a dog attacking minors in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, the agency reported.
The first incident occurred last October. At that time, an aggressive animal attacked a seven-year-old girl in a dormitory, resulting in injuries to the child. In July of this year, another young child was injured.
Despite requests from parents to law enforcement authorities, no necessary measures were taken. The dog’s owner, who violated animal keeping regulations, has not yet been held accountable.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Nizhny Novgorod has opened a criminal case regarding the animal’s attack. Additionally, a procedural check has been initiated concerning police officers who failed to respond appropriately to citizens’ requests.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded the regional SIK head, Ayrat Akhmetshin, provide a report on the preliminary and final results of the investigation. He also instructed to report on the progress of the procedural review of internal affairs officers.
The implementation of these instructions remains under the supervision of the central office of the Investigative Committee.
It was previously reported that the owners of the dog that attacked a child in Gorodets have been identified.
