Deputy Hrynievich commented on the new bill regarding the lawyer's status.
The chairman of the regional branch of the "Fair Russia — For Truth" party and a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Tatiana Grinevich, commented on the bill that the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has proposed for discussion. The essence of the innovation is that only lawyers will be able to represent citizens' interests in courts. At the same time, the current institute of legal representation without lawyer status in court proceedings will be abolished, the deputy explained on her Telegram channel.
For any lawyer working with individuals, 95% of inquiries are related to court cases and representation in court. It turns out that if the law is adopted, lawyers will be forced to join bar associations, pass exams, and pay significant admission fees to the regional and federal bar, as well as a monthly fee to the bar, Grinevich wrote.
The deputy added that in such a case, the cost of legal services for ordinary people will increase. According to her, if a lawyer has exclusive rights to represent a party only in criminal proceedings, then ordinary lawyers protect people's interests only in legal relations.
One of the state's goals with this bill is to ensure high-quality protection of citizens in courts. But is lawyer status really a cure for unprofessionalism and greed? — Tatiana Grinevich questioned.
She emphasized that the "Fair Russia — For Truth" party has a project — Citizens' Rights Protection Centers. Its specialists provide free legal assistance to residents, and a large share of the victories of the centers and lawyers are court wins.
Lawyers, my helpers, go and represent the interests of residents in courts in labor disputes, housing legislation, and many other areas, the deputy concluded.
Earlier, we reported that Tatiana Grinevich helped a woman who turned to her undergo a bankruptcy procedure.
