On quality control and safety of meat products for the first six months of 2025

      In the first half of 2025, the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, within the framework of supervision and monitoring conducted by the FBUZ "Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Nizhny Novgorod Region," examined 912 samples of meat products for physico-chemical, sanitary-chemical, microbiological, radiological, parasitological indicators, as well as for the presence of antibiotics and GMOs. Non-compliance with established requirements for microbiological indicators was found in 5.5% of the tested samples, for physico-chemical indicators in 9.9%, and for antibiotics content in 9.7%. GMOs and radioactive substances were not detected in the studied samples. During inspection activities, violations of legislation in the field of technical regulation were identified, including the sale of products not meeting the requirements of technical regulations; violation of storage conditions and expiration dates of meat products. As a result of the inspections, non-compliant products were withdrawn from circulation in 22 consignments totaling 155.3 kg. Offenders were held administratively liable in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The situation remains under the control of the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
