The prosecutor secured a court ruling returning 2 million rubles stolen from a pensioner in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Incidents. The Prosecutor's Office of the Kanavinsky District of Nizhny Novgorod has secured restitution of a large sum stolen from an elderly resident of the region through fraud.

      As part of oversight activities related to the investigation of crimes involving the use of information and telecommunication technologies, prosecutors established that the pensioner became a victim of scammers who illegally seized his money.

      Law enforcement determined the bank account to which the stolen funds were transferred. Subsequently, the district prosecutor filed a lawsuit in court in the interests of the affected citizen.

      In court, the claim was filed for the recovery of 2,190,000 rubles as unjust enrichment.

      The Kurgań City Court fully satisfied the claim. The decision has entered into legal force.

      The enforcement of the court decision is under постоянный supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kanavinsky District.

      It was previously reported that the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia became interested in Nizhny Novgorod ritual practitioners extorting money.
