      Analytical Center "G.U.R.U." together with the information Telegram agency "TeleStream" presented the latest issue of the study "Telegram Index. June 2025 Public Politicians Effectiveness Rating through the Prism of Telegram." As part of the work, experts analyzed how often and in what context regional heads of Russia were mentioned in Russian-language Telegram channels. The study is based on data from a neural network developed by the center's analysts. It records all mentions of key political figures in the messenger. Particular attention in the report is paid to governors and the activity of their personal channels on Telegram. Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, was among the leaders in the ranking at the end of June. His name was mentioned in Telegram channels 16,464 times, placing him in the top five most quoted governors in the country. He took first place in the Volga Federal District. Roman Permyakov, an expert at ESIS and a member of the Russian Association of Political Consultants, commented on the results, noting an "unexpected trend." Despite the summer decline in internet activity and interruptions with mobile internet, the overall number of mentions of regional heads in Telegram increased in June compared to May. Analysts attribute the heightened interest in Gleb Nikitin to major federal events held in Nizhny Novgorod, such as the "CIPR" forum attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and the "XII Forum of Russia and Belarus Regions" with the participation of Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko. Both events became main drivers of the governor's media activity on Telegram. Nikitin's initiatives, which received broad response in the messenger, also increased attention. Among them are the launch of the digital service "Support Measure Calculator for Families with Children" and the high-profile proposal to ban vapes entirely. Additional interest was sparked by reports of drone attack attempts on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region, which the regional governor commented on. Among the federal Telegram channels most frequently mentioning Nikitin are "RT in Russian," "Earlier than Everyone. Well, Almost," "Operational Summaries," "Security Forces," and "Pool No. 3."
