Society. A new transformer was commissioned at the Autozavodskaya TPP. The energy unit weighing 96 tons and standing 6 meters tall was delivered to Nizhny Novgorod on two trailers.

The new transformer has a capacity of 63,000 kilovolt-amperes. It converts alternating current from one voltage level to another and ensures the transmission of electrical energy over long distances with minimal losses. The replacement work was carried out simultaneously by two crews from the contracting organization under the supervision of a lead engineer. To ensure the highest reliability parameters of the transformer during the work, weather conditions were also taken into account. The assembly process and comprehensive testing took 2.5 weeks. The work proceeded strictly according to the schedule. One crew was responsible for assembling, installing, and connecting the transformer directly. The second crew reconstructed the bus bridge for the new energy unit. Subsequently, specialists conducted a full range of electrical tests.

“Specialists carried out the incoming quality control of the transformer equipment, thoroughly monitored all stages of construction and installation work performed by the contracting organization, and commissioned the new transformer,” said Alexander Kriushkin, head of the electrical shop at Autozavodskaya TPP.

As noted by ATEZ director Andrey Maruskin, the new transformer will improve the reliability and quality of power supply for consumers.
