      Society The "New People" party has initiated a proposal to introduce tuition fees for migrant children in Russian schools. Deputies led by Alexey Nechaev, the party leader, have already submitted a corresponding request to the Ministry of Education. A source close to the situation told "360" channel about this.

      Duma deputies proposed amending legislation regarding the education of migrant children in Russia. According to the Ministry of Science and Education, their number exceeds 200,000, and about half of them face difficulties with the Russian language. Free education for these children places an additional burden on the education system, the budget, and academic placements, as well as requiring more time from teachers.

      The parliamentarians suggest implementing paid tuition for children without Russian citizenship, believing that this will increase their accountability for the quality of education and serve as an incentive to learn Russian.

      However, human rights defenders criticize this proposal, fearing social isolation and discrimination of migrant children, who are often in a vulnerable position.
