      Incidents: 18 criminal cases involving 327 episodes related to 26 foreigners have been sent to court. This was announced by Dmitry Filatov, head of the Department of Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, at a press conference at NOCIC on July 16, attended by a NIA Nizhny Novgorod correspondent.

      Among the criminal cases forwarded to court are two ethnically organized crime groups with 180 episodes and seven criminal groups with 135 episodes.

      Among migrants involved in drug-related crimes in the Nizhny Novgorod region are 7 citizens from Uzbekistan, 6 from Tajikistan, 2 from Armenia, 2 from Azerbaijan, as well as one foreigner each from Egypt, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Sudan.

      Most often, foreigners cross the Russian border and reside in the country for a certain period, establishing drug businesses in the region.

      It was previously reported that approximately 700 kilograms of drugs have been seized in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of the year.
