Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have started preparing in advance for the wedding season. This year, interest in online resources related to organizing an important life event, as well as portals showcasing wedding specialists' portfolios, has increased by 80% compared to the first half of 2024. Notably, this growth has been observed since January. At the same time, there is a noticeable rise in payments for essential wedding services and goods. This trend was identified through a joint study conducted by VTB and MegaFon based on anonymized client data.
According to the operator's big data, last year, a surge in traffic on specialized sites occurred only at the beginning of summer. However, this year, higher numbers have been recorded starting from January and have persisted through July. Furthermore, prospective brides and grooms in the region most often seek useful information at the beginning of the week — on Mondays and Tuesdays — presumably to meet with relevant specialists and purchase necessary items in the following days.
Since the start of the year, the number of payments for wedding services has also been growing. For example, according to VTB, in beauty salons in the Nizhny Novgorod region, over 103,000 payments totaling 176 million rubles were made from January to July 2025. Compared to the same period last year, the number of transactions increased by 76%, and spending grew by 86%. The average receipt increased slightly to 1,700 rubles, which is 6% higher than in 2024.
In flower shops, during the same period, residents of the region completed nearly 207,000 transactions amounting to almost 297 million rubles. This is a 67% increase in the number of payments and twice as much in total spending compared to the same period last year. The average check was 1,437 rubles, 20% more than the previous year.
In jewelry stores in the Nizhny Novgorod region, bank customers spent 229 million rubles, and the number of payments reached 18,500. This is 19% more transactions and 42% higher in total expenditure than the previous year. The average check was 12,400 rubles — 19% above that of 2024.
