Delegations from 127 countries visited the Nizhny Novgorod region in the first half of 2025.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, one of the leading centers of international activity, there has been a growth in the number of visits by foreign delegations. In the first half of 2025, the region was visited by over 2,200 people from 127 countries, including Argentina, Egypt, Zambia, India, Morocco, Mexico, the UAE, and other states. The number of visits increased by 90% compared to the same period last year (from 106 to 202). "The almost doubling of the number of foreign delegations visiting the region is not just statistics but a vivid testament to the growing international reputation of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It confirms that our efforts to develop openness and partnerships are yielding tangible results. We see increasing interest from more and more countries, and this inspires us to further strengthen international ties," said Olga Guseva, Minister of International Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The most significant international events held in the first half of 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod included the XII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, the international conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia," and the Global Digital Forum. "Holding such large-scale international events is a key element of our strategy. These events not only showcase the region's potential in key sectors but also create platforms for constructive dialogue, experience exchange, and high-level partnership building," added Olga Guseva. International cooperation of the Nizhny Novgorod region is also actively developing in the format of outbound initiatives. Executive bodies, subordinate institutions, as well as local government authorities organized 19 outbound events in 11 foreign countries: Abkhazia, Belarus, Brazil, Israel, India, Cyprus, China, Niger, Serbia, the UAE, and Uruguay. As a result of active dialogue and strengthened relations, 13 new contractual documents were signed with foreign partners through the government and local government bodies of the Nizhny Novgorod region with regions and municipal entities in countries such as Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Iran, China, and Ethiopia. For comparison, five such documents were signed in the same period of 2024.
