Participant of the special military operation: "Victory will be ours – there are no other options!"

      Society A participant in the special military operation from Nizhny Novgorod with the call sign "Geek" has been serving as a communications officer since autumn 2022. According to the soldier, he led an ordinary life before the SVO: school, mandatory military service, university, work, his entrepreneurial activities, family and friends. When his military skills and strength became necessary for the country, he made a firm decision to go protect the Motherland: "It is my duty, my civic responsibility."

      Svatovo, Soledar, Kramatorsk — these are the combat routes for the communications officer. Setting up and maintaining communication lines was done under shelling, despite enemy drones, in any weather — cold, heat, heavy rains.

      "If during combat operations we are not remembered and go unnoticed, that's the best assessment of the communications soldiers' work. When there is communication with command and all units for coordinated work, no failures — it means all commands and information are received on time, and tasks are completed," explains the Nizhny Novgorod resident.

      For his service, "Geek" has been awarded the medals "Participant of the SVO" and "For Saving the Drowning."

      "I know that my maternal grandfather fought in the war and received the 'For the Capture of Berlin' medal in 1945. My mother said he didn’t like to talk about the war in detail, protected his family members, and didn't consider himself a hero. I guess I inherited his brevity. But I believe that it is essential to study and know our history, especially about the Great Patriotic War. It’s a lesson for all of us to understand what is happening today. Victory will be ours — there are no other options!" — the soldier is confident.

      Earlier this year, he was wounded in the leg during another reconnaissance operation, during which he maintained communication. He is currently on leave at home. He says that if the doctors permit him to return to duty, he wants to serve again in his unit.

      It should be reminded that the state provides material support to defenders of the Motherland and helps their families. Additionally, those who sign a contract and are sent to the SVO zone receive certificates for 10 acres of land in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The certificate can be used two years after receiving it.

      Furthermore, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, there is a mechanism for concluding military social contracts, which additionally guarantee each family of a contract soldier 10,000 rubles per month for each child, benefits for utilities, preschool services, and other forms of support. An individual support program for the soldier’s family is also provided.

      The dispatch of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to their place of service and the issuance of additional gear are handled by the coordination center for supporting military personnel, mobilized individuals, and their families, operating at the House of National Unity. At the same time, the region continues to actively support soldiers by sending humanitarian aid to the SVO zone.
