Nizhny Novgorod residents can use the Wi-Fi hotspot map without an internet connection.

      Public SocietyMap of free Wi-Fi hotspots in the Nizhny Novgorod region is now available offline — it can be used even without an internet connection. The new feature was added to the "Nizhny Novgorod Resident Map" mobile app, regional digital development ministry reported.

      To use the map offline, you need to install the app on your smartphone. It is available for download on Google Play, the App Store, and RuStore.

      After installation, select the "Wi-Fi Map" section and download the desired map — you can download the entire region or specific cities: Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, or Arzamas. Using the map does not require registration.

      If a user finds that information about a Wi-Fi hotspot is outdated or there is no internet at the specified location, they can report it in two ways: call the regional information service hotline at 122 (from 9:00 to 21:00, press 5 after connection); leave a message on the "Nizhny Novgorod Resident Map" portal.

      The regional digital ministry noted that the map will be regularly updated as new access points become available.

      Additionally, entrepreneurs can offer their establishments for free Wi-Fi placement by filling out a special form on the "Nizhny Novgorod Resident Map" portal.
