Society In the framework of the "Child Safety 2025" monitoring, the working group visited ZemSnarod-1 Lake in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. The inspection assessed the condition of the children's playground, recreation areas, and the coastal territory of Avtozavodsky Park.

"Child safety is our top priority. Regular infrastructure checks and preventive measures help prevent tragedies. It was noted that extra attention should be paid to cleaning up trash from the shore. We will pass this remark to our colleagues. Overall, the mood among visitors is excellent, everyone is satisfied. That’s encouraging," said Dmitry Igoshin, Deputy Chairman of the VOD "Fathers of Russia" branch in Nizhny Novgorod and Chairman of the Public Council of the "Strong Family" party project.

Members of the working group conducted preventive conversations with visitors: they explained key rules of conduct on the water and safety measures in hot weather.

"We reminded everyone of the importance of maintaining proper hydration, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, and supervising children. Additionally, we collected citizen appeals regarding the park zone and beach. All initiatives will be systematized and forwarded to the relevant authorities," said Evgeny Yermilov, Deputy Head of the regional public reception of the Chairman of the "United Russia" party, head of the office of the Public Support Headquarters of "United Russia" in Nizhny Novgorod.

Special attention was given to the presence of warning signs and overall safety compliance. Visitors to ZemSnarod-1 Lake received leaflets titled "Summer: Rules of Safe Behavior," published by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Region.

"All standards are met at the beach: necessary beach equipment and rescue gear are available. Lifeguards are stationed at their posts. We observed visitor behavior: no violations were noted. From conversations with residents, I can say that people understand how dangerous it is not to follow safety rules on the water," emphasized Pavel Vladimirov, Head of the Department for Water Safety at GIMS MChS Russia in Nizhny Novgorod Region.

During the inspection, the group members discussed summer home safety rules with parents. The main focus was on open windows.

"The situation in our country is alarming: the number of children falling from windows is not decreasing. Every third case is fatal. Our task is to maximize informing the population about the danger to prevent such tragedies. Today, conversations with parents revealed that many are aware of the problem but do nothing to ensure their children’s safety. Today, special devices for windows—lockers with a cylinder and key—were distributed to visitors with young children," explained public figure, entrepreneur, and member of the local political council of the "United Russia" party in the Prioksky district, Artem Popov.

The safety monitoring was carried out by activists from the "United Russia" party in collaboration with the Public Support Headquarters, members of the "Fathers of Russia" movement, law enforcement officers, and the GIMS Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Region.
