Defenceman Mikhail Naumenko signed a contract with the Nizhny Novgorod hockey club Torpedo. This was announced on the team's social media channels.
Over the years, the 32-year-old hockey player has played for CSKA. In the last four seasons, he represented Salavat Yulaev. Incidentally, Torpedo is set to play its first game of the 2025/2026 season against Ufa's team.
Last season, Naumenko played 83 games and scored 24 points (5 goals + 19 assists) according to the "goal+assist" system.
Naumenko has won the Kharlamov Cup, became Russian champion twice, and won the Continental Cup four times. In the 2018/2019 season, he became Gagarin Cup champion. The athlete has been called up multiple times to the Russian national team, and as part of the youth national team, he was a silver medalist at the World Championship.
In total, Naumenko has played 696 KHL games, scoring 160 points (39 goals + 121 assists).
It is worth recalling that the club's general director, Evgeny Zabuga, stated that to fully complete the starting lineup, Torpedo needed one player for the defense and one for the forwards. As a result of a trade with CSKA, the team acquired forward Yegor Sokolov, and now Naumenko has taken the vacant defense spot. The transfer window in the KHL remains open until January 25.
It was previously reported that the new signings of Torpedo have chosen their jersey numbers for the upcoming season. NIA Nizhny Novgorod has a Telegram channel. Subscribe to stay updated on major events, exclusive content, and timely information.
