Tram traffic disrupted by the heavy rain has been restored in Nizhny Novgorod.

As a result of gusts of wind, three trees fell onto the tram tracks and contact lines on Patriotov Street, Komsomolskoye Highway, and Hero Smirnov Street. On the last street, there was also a contact wire break. Additional damages were recorded on Hero Smirnov Street: two cables of traction substation No. 9 were damaged, affecting the power supply to the line. On Artel'naya Street, specialists found no voltage in the contact network, which also led to a temporary suspension of tram movement on routes No. 8 and No. 12. Heavy rainfall caused significant difficulties. On Krasnodonets and Krasny Partrizan Streets, near the "Hospital No. 23" bus stop, tram tracks were flooded. The situation was particularly critical in the Autozavodsky main canal, where water levels on the rails exceeded the permissible norm by 20 centimeters — with a maximum allowed of 10 centimeters. Emergency teams from LLC "Environmental Projects" promptly resolved all consequences of the storm. Currently, tram movement on all affected routes has been restored and is operating normally. It is also worth mentioning that the heavy rain washed out the soil in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, and some streets in Nizhny Novgorod were flooded. It was reported that public utilities continue to clear storm drains to accelerate water drainage.
