Over 400 settlements in the Nizhny Novgorod region were visited by "Health Trains" in the first half of 2025.
Since the beginning of the year, specialists of the mobile diagnostics complexes "Health Trains" have made 125 visits to municipalities in the Nizhny Novgorod region. By the end of the half-year, medical teams have traveled to over 400 settlements. Approximately 23,200 people became patients of the "Health Trains." The regional Ministry of Health reported that to date, doctors have conducted over 39,500 consultations, providing residents with access to therapists, cardiologists, neurologists, surgeons, urologists, gynecologists, oncologists, ophthalmologists, and other specialized doctors. Additionally, more than 80,100 diagnostic tests have been performed, including electrocardiograms, fluorographies, mammographies, ultrasound examinations, laboratory tests, and others. According to the ministry, five mobile diagnostic brigades operate weekly in the region, formed on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko. Olga Kolychek, head of the department organizing the work of mobile medical teams at N.A. Semashko, noted that during hot weather, there is an increase in appeals to medical staff regarding high blood pressure and exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases. "To avoid possible health problems during periods of extreme temperature rise, it is recommended to drink more fluids, such as pure drinking or mineral water, natural juices, and fruit drinks. It is also advised not to go outside during the hottest hours, to wear head coverings, and loose clothing made of natural fabrics. Elderly people and those suffering from cardiovascular diseases should pay special attention to these simple precautions. These measures help prevent heatstroke, sunstroke, and other unpleasant conditions," the doctor advised. The "Health Trains" project has been implemented since 2018 on the initiative of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. The operation of mobile diagnostic complexes helps achieve the goals outlined in the new national project "Long and Active Life." The schedule of the "Health Trains" is updated monthly. Current information can be found on the region's Ministry of Health website at: https://zdrav-nnov.ru/informatsiya/poezda-zdorovya/. The national project "Long and Active Life" was launched across the country in 2025 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It aims to increase life expectancy by 2030 and involves upgrading clinics, outpatient facilities, paramedic stations, attracting highly qualified medical staff, applying new approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical services and rehabilitation systems, developing a network of national research centers, and digitalizing the industry. The project includes 11 federal initiatives: "Health for Everyone," "Primary Healthcare Modernization," "Medical Personnel," "Fight Against Cardiovascular Diseases," "Fight Against Cancer," "Fight Against Diabetes," "Hepatitis Prevention and Risk Minimization," "Improvement of Emergency Medical Assistance," "Development of Federal Medical Institutions, Including National Research Centers," "National Platform 'Health'," and "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Recovery."
