      Society A strong downpour that occurred today in Nizhny Novgorod caused partial erosion of the prepared ground within the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.

      According to the management of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the water washed away part of the soil intended for landscaping the area between Zachatetskaya and Georgievskaya towers. The flows carried the soil beyond the construction zone.

      Work has already been organized to clean and restore the area.

      Some streets in Nizhny Novgorod were also flooded. The city hall reported that the water is draining into the storm sewer. In areas where drainage is difficult, road services and specialized equipment are being used to pump out the water.

      Earlier, EMERCOM warned of a sharp deterioration in weather conditions in the Nizhny Novgorod region and Nizhny Novgorod itself—intense rainfall and increased easterly winds.
