Reconstruction of the road bridge of the Nizhny Novgorod GES is ongoing.

      The scheduled completion date is July 2026. Reconstruction of the road bridge passing over the structures of the Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station is currently ahead of schedule, as reported by the company's press service. At present, all span structures on the upper bank side have been fully dismantled. The installation of new span structures in this section is 75% complete. Simultaneously, work is underway on the section of the left-bank connection of the bridge crossing with dam No. 3. The full scope of work, which will enable the transfer of reversible traffic to the new lane, will be completed by the end of autumn 2025. Construction will then continue on the second lane on the lower bank side. The contractor is ensuring the engagement of the necessary personnel for round-the-clock work, the timely delivery of materials, and the organization of evening and night shifts when full road closure of the bridge is implemented, in coordination with the road owner and the traffic police. "Special attention during the work is paid to quality control. Qualified construction control specialists are involved. State construction supervision is carried out by the Volga-Oka Inspection of Rostekhnadzor. The hydroelectric station and the contractor’s specialists are taking all available measures to ensure uninterrupted road traffic across the Volga bridge, considering established restrictions, with continuous interaction with the Main Directorate of Highways of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the traffic police, and Rostransnadzor," emphasized Alexander Goyzenband, director of the Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station branch of PJSC RusHydro. The planned completion date for the reconstruction of the span structures of the last section of the bridge is July 2026. Nizhny Novgorod Hydroelectric Power Station reminds that the section of the regional public road 22 OP R3 22K-0020 Linda – Gorodets – Zavoz'ye passing over the automobile bridge prohibits the passage of freight vehicles, as well as any vehicles with a total weight over 15 tons; the speed is limited to 30 km/h, and pedestrian access is forbidden.
