Rescue services warn of high fire hazard in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The Society of Emergency Situations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region reports an increased risk of natural fires from July 11 to July 15, 2025. The region is forecasted to have a fire hazard level of 4 — one of the highest levels of danger. This information was provided by the regional ministry's press service.

      Forests and peat bogs are of particular concern, where even a minor source of fire can lead to a large-scale wildfire. Therefore, rescuers strongly urge residents and visitors to observe safety precautions.

      It is strictly prohibited to burn trash on dacha and garden plots, as well as near forested areas. Making bonfires in the forest, smoking, and careless handling of fire, including discarding cigarette butts and matches, can cause fires.

      Additionally, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that bottles, glass shards, and other trash left in open sunny clearings can act as lenses and ignite fires.

      Rescuers call on citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any signs of smoke or fire by calling 112.

      It was previously reported that in June, more than ten fires were registered in the forests of Nizhny Novgorod.
