The "even-odd" rule at Nizhny Novgorod gas stations will be canceled for one day.

On September 1, 2026, at 14:07, the rule for refueling based on even and odd numbers will be suspended in the Nizhny Novgorod region for one day. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Energy and Housing and Utilities. The department explained that the decision is related to the peculiarity of the calendar: two odd numbers occur consecutively at the turn of August and September. Therefore, on September 1, vehicles with any license plates will be able to refuel.

Recall that the rule for gasoline distribution depending on the parity of the license plate number has been in effect at network gas stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region since July 6. It was introduced to reduce queues and create the necessary fuel reserves at gas stations.

There are currently no plans to completely lift the restrictions until the fuel situation stabilizes. However, there are also no intentions to introduce QR codes universally.

Since August 13, volunteers have also resumed work at key gas stations. At Gazpromneft gas stations, restrictions on gasoline distribution into vehicle tanks and specialized containers have been restored.

Energy and Housing Minister of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Kurenkov, explained the disruptions in fuel supplies by unscheduled repairs at several oil refineries.
