13 settlements will disappear from the map of the Chkalovsky district.

September 3, 2026 10:34 Society 13 villages in the Chkalovsky district will cease to exist from the beginning of 2027. The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, has signed three laws changing the administrative-territorial structure of the region. The documents were adopted by the Legislative Assembly on August 27, 2026.

The main part of the reform affected the urban district of Chkalovsk. As part of the optimization, rural settlements are being abolished by merging them with larger neighbors. This is done to create conditions for gasification and development of the territories.

The merging process will affect five rural councils. In the Belovsko-Novinsky rural council, the village of Varlashevo will become part of the village of Bubnovo, and the village of Ryzhkovo will join the village of Sitskoe. In the Kotelnikovsky rural council, the village of Balakhino will join the village of Strelka, the village of Zhukovo will merge with Vashkino, Sapanikha will join Kutyachevo, and Chernilnikov will merge with Pavelkovo.

In the Kuznetsovsky rural council, the village of Gubtsevo will be abolished as an independent unit and included in the village of Perekhvatkino. The Purekhovsky rural council will lose the village of Fomino, which will become part of the village of Purek.

The largest reorganization will take place in the Solomatovsky rural council. The villages of Bolshoye Yakunino, Kodochigi, Morozovo, Umniki, and Shishkino will officially become part of the village of Solomaty.

Two more laws change the status of settlements in the Varnavinsky district. The villages of Prudovka in the Mikhalevinsky rural council and Antonikha in the Bogorodsky rural council will become hamlets. The decision was made to eliminate duplicate names of settlements in one district. This creates difficulties when working with the Federal Information Address System.

All adopted regulatory acts will come into legal force simultaneously on January 1, 2027. Earlier, the depopulated rural settlement of Elevaia Zavod (Mikhalevinsky rural council) was abolished in the Varnavinsky district. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
