This was reported by the honorary consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Nizhny Novgorod, Vadim Yun, in an interview with NIA "Nizhny Novgorod." According to him, the opening of a direct flight primarily depends on the availability of sufficient passenger traffic. Currently, the main flow of passengers goes through Moscow.

      "This is an economically sensitive issue, and it is not worth making empty promises here. It has been discussed, including with the authorities of the republic and the region. But a direct flight requires sufficient passenger traffic, and right now the main flow goes through Moscow," noted Vadim Yun.

      He added that as passenger traffic increases, the launch of direct air communication may become more realistic. He estimates that the demand for such flights could be boosted by the opening of a Russian-Kyrgyz IT center, new partnership agreements, and sister city relations. Another factor Yun mentioned is the development of tourist exchange. He noted that Kyrgyzstan is popular among Russian tourists due to the visa-free regime, cultural and linguistic proximity, as well as its tourist potential, including Issyk-Kul and mountain resorts. At the same time, according to the honorary consul, the Nizhny Novgorod region is also interested in attracting tourists.
