Water is being pumped off the streets of Nizhny Novgorod after a heavy downpour.

      August 17, 2026 17:03 Society After a heavy downpour in Nizhny Novgorod, water pumping equipment is operating in areas where local water accumulations have formed. This was reported by the city administration. First and foremost, specialists are addressing the aftermath of the bad weather on sections where public transport routes pass. The city administration also clarified that in some of the photos and videos of flooding circulating on social networks, the water has already drained into the storm sewer on its own. As an example, the administration mentioned the Brinsky Bridge and General Ivliev Street, from where footage of a car caught in the bad weather was previously published.
