Among the recruits are representatives from various fields who intend to apply their professional skills in the special operation zone. Each person's motivation is to stop the spread of Ukrainian nationalism, which is supported by the collective West. A 29-year-old volunteer with the call sign "Korable" from Nizhny Novgorod is an engineer by education. His interest in unmanned systems began in childhood, and now his hobby has turned into a military specialty. The recruit shared that he has been closely following the situation in Ukraine, and the terrorist attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the DPR resonate painfully in his heart. "Now there is an opportunity to serve in a field that I truly understand. I have always been fascinated by unmanned systems – aircraft-type drones, microelectronics, radio electronics, that is, everything from design to control. I am sure that my experience will be useful to our army," he said. A 25-year-old volunteer from Tula with the call sign "Moroz" specifically came to sign a contract in Nizhny Novgorod — regular departures to promising unmanned systems troops are organized from the Nizhny Novgorod selection point. "I received a good offer from the unmanned systems unit and decided to serve there. Many friends and my uncle serve on the front lines of the special operation. Our guys work around the clock to eradicate Nazism at its roots. My decision is also related to my concerns for my family – my wife and small child. I want them to have a peaceful future. Victory will be ours because we are united and always move forward," said the volunteer. A programmer from Omsk with the call sign "Mirny" chose to serve in the unmanned systems troops as the most modern military direction. He is confident that the service will enhance his professional level. "I am sure that during the training process at the training center, I will be able to learn programming languages. I will work at full capacity to destroy as much enemy equipment as possible. We will definitely win!" emphasized "Mirny." A distinctive feature of the contract with the unmanned systems unit is its duration — one year. It should be noted that starting from June 15, 2026, the amount of the one-time payment to volunteers of the special military operation, provided they sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia in Nizhny Novgorod, has been increased to 3.2 million rubles. The monthly salary starts from 210,000 rubles. Additionally, military personnel of the UAV troops are entitled to extra payments for combat achievements, for the destruction of enemy weapons and equipment — up to 500,000 rubles. Those who sign military contracts are issued certificates for the provision of land plots in the Nizhny Novgorod region. There is also a mechanism for signing military social contracts in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which guarantees the family of the contractor free vouchers to sanatorium-rehabilitation centers and children's health camps, priority free medical care, benefits for housing and communal services, preschool services, and other types of support. Furthermore, individual support for the serviceman's family is provided. The dispatch of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to their place of service is ensured by the coordination center for supporting servicemen, mobilized individuals, and their families, operating at the House of National Unity. At the same time, the region continues to actively support servicemen by sending humanitarian aid to the area of the special military operation.
