Gleb Nikitin congratulated the residents on the 805th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod.

      On August 15, 2026, at 07:00, Society Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin congratulated residents on the 805th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. He noted the contribution of Nizhny Novgorod residents to the development and transformation of the city, as well as its historical and cultural heritage. The head of the region emphasized that Nizhny Novgorod unites those who were born here and those who once came and fell in love with the city. According to the governor, the capital of the Volga region carefully preserves its historical, cultural, and architectural heritage while simultaneously changing and developing.

      “For example, the Strelka has always been a place of power for Nizhny Novgorod residents, a part of their identity, but for decades its beauty was hidden behind port cranes. Now this space has acquired new meanings—it has become a favorite place for walks and relaxation, and concerts and music festivals are held here,” noted Nikitin.

      The governor also highlighted the diversity of urban spaces. In the Protected Quarters, one can see ancient merchant streets, in the Arsenal and Warehouses—get acquainted with contemporary art, and from the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin and the Fedorovsky Embankment—admire the panorama of the city. He specifically mentioned the Nizhny Novgorod Fair and river cruises on the Volga and Oka. All of this, according to him, helps to feel “100% real Russia.”

      “Dear Nizhny Novgorod residents! It is you who make your city great. Wishing you health, new victories, and reasons to be proud of your small homeland!” concluded Gleb Nikitin.
