On the home stretch: what the Nizhny Novgorod "Volga Arena" looks like now

August 13, 2026 15:00 SportNizhny Novgorod's "Volga Arena" is getting closer to opening. There is one month left until the first home game of HC "Torpedo" — on September 14, Alexey Isakov's team is set to meet Kazan's "Ak Bars" here.

All necessary checks before the arena's commissioning have already been completed. Currently, workers are engaged in final preparations.

Inside the building, work is in full swing: boxes are being brought into the premises almost non-stop, and at one of the entrances, a truck is unloading equipment.

The landscaping of the area is also ongoing. Today, construction fencing around the arena began to be removed. The complete dismantling of the barrier is planned for tomorrow evening.
