The laborer of the rear, Ekaterina Stepanovna Boroday, has turned 100 years old and lives in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. According to the head of the district administration, Alexander Nagin, Ekaterina Stepanovna has lived in the Avtozavodsky district since she was 16. During the war years, she worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant and actively helped at the rear. "One hundred years is a unique milestone. Behind her is a huge life filled with work and care for the prosperity of our district. When the war began, Ekaterina Stepanovna was only 15 years old. Her generation is the generation of victors and creators. I wish her to remain the same cheerful person, to feel the support and daily care of her loved ones," he said. On the festive day, employees of the district administration and the social protection department congratulated the birthday girl and presented her with commemorative gifts. As her granddaughter Natalia shared, Ekaterina Stepanovna has a very beautiful voice. "Grandma, along with her sister, sang songs for the soldiers. They loved to hear the Russian folk song 'Valenki' the most," she shared. Regarding her main secret to longevity, Ekaterina Stepanovna says: "I have lived my whole life in joy and love all people very much. I have 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren." She is celebrating her centenary surrounded by family and close friends.

Ekaterina Stepanovna Boroday was born on August 13, 1926, in the city of Akmolinsk (Kazakhstan) in a family of hairdressers (as they were called then - barbers). In 1942, Ekaterina Stepanovna moved to the city of Gorky with her mother and younger sister, where she began working as a courier in the Avtozavodsky district council, and later that same year, she got a job at the Gorky Automobile Plant. In addition to her main job, she helped the front along with other young people: digging trenches, collecting mushrooms and berries, etc. In 1946, Ekaterina Stepanovna got married. Three children were born in the marriage: two daughters and a son. For her valiant work during the Great Patriotic War, she was awarded commemorative medals for Victory Day.
