The Nizhny Novgorod City Hall has updated the procedure for exchanging data on emergencies.

      On August 13, 2026, at 17:20, the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod approved an updated procedure for collecting and exchanging information in the field of protecting the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies. The corresponding decree was published on the city hall's website.

      The new procedure defines the main rules for collecting and transmitting information about predicted and already occurred emergencies, their consequences, measures for protecting the population and territories, the progress of emergency rescue and other urgent works, as well as the forces and means involved.

      In addition, the list includes information on radiation, chemical, medical-biological, explosive, fire, and environmental safety, as well as the state of safety for people in water bodies and on the territory of Nizhny Novgorod.

      The document establishes that the Department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the city will collect information about emergencies and ensure the exchange of such information in the established manner, including with the involvement of forces assigned to it for operational subordination.

      The institution is also required to send information about all emergencies in the city and the measures being taken to eliminate them to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Furthermore, it is tasked with accounting for emergencies within its competence.
