      The Obolensky estate in the Vorotynsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region has been put up for auction. The starting price of the property is 1,295,700 rubles, as reported on the website of the regional ministry of property and land relations.

      The estate is located in the village of Krasnaya Gorka on Beregovaya Street. The building area is 414.2 square meters, and the land plot is 13,350 square meters.

      The acceptance of applications for participation in the auction starts on August 14 and will last until October 1. The determination of participants will take place on October 2, and the auction itself will be held on October 5. The house is located on Beregovaya Street. Back in the early 19th century, these lands were purchased by the Obolensky family from the landowner Demidov. The estate house itself appeared later, in the 1880s-1890s. It was commissioned by Prince Platon Obolensky-Nelidin-Meletsky, who, by the way, was a descendant of the Rurik dynasty. It is said that the building's design was developed by Lev Dal, the son of the famous Vladimir Dal, the author of the well-known explanatory dictionary.

      When the Bolsheviks came to power, Prince Obolensky moved to America. Over time, his former estate housed a rest house, an agricultural technical school, and even a boarding school.

      In the 1990s, the estate passed into private hands. In 1994, a major fire occurred there, destroying most of the buildings. Since then, the building has begun to deteriorate. In 2010, the regional ministry of property listed the estate as state property of the Nizhny Novgorod region and granted it the status of a regional architectural monument. The property was resold several times afterward. In 2025, by court decision, the estate was taken from the last owner.
