      The international shift of the military-patriotic camp "I Want to Become a Paratrooper" with the participation of nearly 100 teenagers from Russia, Abkhazia, and Transnistria started in Nizhny Novgorod at Marshal Zhukov Square. Traditionally, during the meeting, the participants performed the anthem of the Russian Federation, honored the memory of the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence, and laid flowers at the "Eternal Flame" memorial. The Deputy Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration, Leonid Streltzov, addressed the campers with parting words. "It has become a good tradition to hold the opening of the summer shifts of the camp at the 'Eternal Flame' at Marshal Zhukov Square. This is a special place: the events of the Great Patriotic War affected all of us, and words like 'patriotism' and 'love for the Motherland' have great significance for everyone present. The geography of the camp participants expands year by year. Today, there are guys not only from Nizhny Novgorod but also from Luhansk, Sukhumi, and Transnistria. I am convinced that this will be an unforgettable shift, and you will learn a lot about airborne training and other military sciences. I wish everyone to prepare well and make your first independent parachute jump," said Leonid Streltzov. The Director of the City Department of Social Policy, Galina Gurenko, noted that in its twenty-year history, the camp is hosting an international shift for the fourth time. "The students of the Maxim Nastin Center for Military-Patriotic Education and the 'I Want to Become a Paratrooper' camp, in turn, participate annually in military-patriotic events in Sukhumi and Minsk. I hope that in the future, the guys will also visit Transnistria. May this shift be bright and unforgettable, and our guests feel at home. Safe travels!" wished Galina Gurenko to the young paratroopers. "Guys, you are the descendants of heroes who, standing shoulder to shoulder, at the cost of their lives brought us the Great Victory. You should be proud of the history of our fraternal peoples and never forget about it. I am sure that the time at the camp will become a new stage in your life, and the knowledge and skills you gain from your mentors will help you in the future," said Alexander Popenko, advisor to the head of Nizhny Novgorod, a participant in the Special Military Operation, and a three-time holder of the Courage Order, in his address. "Our country is multinational and multi-confessional, and the peoples living in it are fraternal, and we are all united. Today you have embarked on the path of great service to your Motherland! God bless you!" said the camp assembly's regimental priest, Archpriest Viktor Polyakov. The solemn event was also attended by cadets of the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense, former students of the "I Want to Become a Paratrooper" camp, and the Maxim Nastin Center, Artem Lyapin and Mikhail Khrychev. "You will face many tasks. To successfully accomplish them, listen carefully to the instructions of your experienced commanders and instructors," noted Mikhail Khrychev. "We, like you, have gone this path – from a student to a vice-sergeant. Try to learn one of the most important life skills during the shift – communication. Communicate as much as possible! To those who choose the military path, I wish resilience and self-confidence. Russia needs patriots, loyal, worthy, and real people! Thank you to the city administration for the development of the camp and the center," said Artem Lyapin. The relatives of the international shift students shared their expectations and hopes. "We came from Moscow. My granddaughter found out about this camp herself and chose it. She wants to improve her sports performance and gain professional knowledge in airborne training. After finishing school, she intends to enroll in a military university," noted Zainab Zalyaevna. "I think this camp is just what boys need. My husband is a paratrooper. I want my son to get acquainted with the military lifestyle as well. He is going to 'I Want to Become a Paratrooper' for the first time: for discipline, responsibility, and understanding that there is a world beyond computers and phones," shared Yulia Alboul. "My son is in the camp for the fourth time, and for the second time he is in the international shift. He always finds many friends: this is how friendship among peoples arises. After the shift, throughout the year, they dream of meeting again in the camp. My son always returns more mature and responsible. He plans to continue his education in military structures," said Ekaterina Zheleznova.

      The guys have busy days ahead in the camp. They will receive uniforms, be assigned to platoons, and be introduced to the daily routine, class schedules, and camp territories.
