The House of People's Unity and the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum have launched a new series of excursions for families of participants in the Special Military Operation.

      A new cycle of excursion programs for participants of the special military operation (SMO) and their families has started at the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum. It was developed as part of the museum's collaboration with the Coordination Center for Supporting Military Personnel and Their Families, operating at the House of National Unity.

      At the first excursion in the art museum in the Kremlin, families of fighters from Bogorodsk, Bor, and Nizhny Novgorod attended.

      "We invite families from all over the Nizhny Novgorod region to join our cultural programs. This year, our events have already reached over a thousand people. As part of the new cycle, guests will visit the museum branches in the Kremlin, on the Upper Volga Embankment, and in the warehouses. Such meetings help distract from everyday worries, provide an opportunity to be together, and fill with new strength," noted Tatiana Druzhinina, head of the regional Coordination Center for Supporting Military Personnel and Their Families.

      The staff of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum have prepared special routes, where each excursion reveals the richness of the national artistic heritage. On the project's launch day, participants were introduced to the collection of Russian art - from ancient Russian icon painting to the works of the Wanderers and masters of the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Among them are works by Bryullov, Shishkin, Repin, Surikov, and other great masters.

      "The museum is always open to a wide variety of visitors, and we strive to consider the interests of all. In this multifaceted work, programs for SMO participants hold a special place - this is one of our key areas. We prepare excursions for them taking their requests into account, so that their stay in the museum brings not only new knowledge but also warmth of the soul," emphasized Roman Zhukarin, general director of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum.

      In subsequent excursions, guests will be presented with new thematic blocks that allow for a deeper immersion into the history of Russian and foreign art.

      "My two daughters and I really enjoyed the excursion! We listened attentively to the guide and learned more about the history and culture of the Nizhny Novgorod region through the stories of the paintings and the biographies of the artists. It’s nice that we are not forgotten and given such wonderful opportunities to take the children somewhere, visit interesting places, and gain new knowledge and impressions. We will definitely tell our dad, who is currently at the front, about the trip so he can be happy for us too," shared Snezhana, the wife of an SMO participant from Bogorodsk.

      Organizing events for the families of SMO participants is one of the directions of systematic work to support the families of SMO participants.

      "The House of National Unity regularly holds various events for family leisure, including various excursion trips, visits to theaters, museums, concerts, exhibitions, and master classes. They can also contact our call center with any questions and problems. Staff organize free consultations with specialists, help with document processing, resolve social support issues, and assist with everyday problems. Since the call center began operations, there have been over 55,000 inquiries. Every family of our defenders should be assured that they will not be left alone with their difficulties," emphasized Sergey Fedorov, head of the House of National Unity.

      Recall that the coordination center for supporting military personnel, mobilized individuals, and their families was established in October 2022 at the House of National Unity by order of the governor.
