More than 1,000,000 rubles were recovered from the company for harming the soil in the Sergač district.

      On August 13, 2026, at 15:50, the company LLC "AGJO-Sergach" paid more than one million rubles for the damage caused to the soil by the operation of the solid waste landfill near the village of Achka in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of Rosprirodnadzor.

      The violation was discovered by agency specialists during a scheduled field inspection in 2023. Soil samples from areas near the landfill showed exceedances for several pollutants.

      After the inspection, the agency calculated the amount of damage and demanded compensation. However, the enterprise refused to pay voluntarily and stated that it did not consider itself guilty.

      The situation had to be resolved in court. The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and then the First Arbitration Appeal Court, supported the position of Rosprirodnadzor.

      The courts recognized the fact of soil contamination as proven. At the same time, there was no information about other enterprises that could have caused such damage.

      "AGJO-Sergach" also could not provide documents confirming that the necessary environmental protection measures were carried out properly.

      As a result, the enterprise was ordered to fully compensate the damage. The decision came into force, and the entire amount has already been transferred to the budget.
