Drone races will be added to the sports events calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region plan to make changes to the Calendar Plan of official physical culture and sports events for 2026. The draft has been posted on the website of the Legislative Assembly of the region. The list will include new events: the cycle "Starts of the 'Spartakiad of Hopes'" (June–November, 600 participants), the 3DCUP Tournament (June–July, 300 participants), the Festival of National Sports for the Cup of the Metropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas (August, Nizhny Novgorod, 500 participants), the Student Cup in flag football (July–December, 250 participants), the V All-Russian mass bicycle race "World Bicycle Day" (July, Vyksa, 200 participants), the Regional physical culture event "Drone Racing Outdoors" (July, Nizhny Novgorod, 50 participants), dedicated to Veteran's Day, as well as the All-Russian table tennis competition among students "Personal Championship of Russia among Students" (October, 150 participants).

      In the section of regional physical culture events, the following have been added: the event "In the Rhythm of OLIMPBET Super Cup of Russia in Football 2026" (July, Nizhny Novgorod, 150 participants), the All-Russian equestrian competition "Pony Stars Assembly" (July, Balakhna District, 100 participants), the "Nizhny Novgorod Equestrian Festival" (August, Balakhna District, 80 participants), the VI Athletics Cross "By Click" (September, Nizhny Novgorod, 500 participants), the "First Half Marathon" (July–August, Lukoyanovsky District, 300 participants), the fishing tournament with spinning from boats "BetBoom PAL OPEN" (August, 80 participants), the "24-Hour Ultra Marathon in Football" with the establishment of a Record of Russia (July, Nizhny Novgorod, 630 participants), the festival "Big Festival of Football among Women's Amateur Teams" (July, Nizhny Novgorod, 600 participants), the festival "Nizhny Novgorod Wave" (September, Gorodets District, 210 participants), as well as the sports stage and final of the family festival "Mrs. Football Mom and Mrs. Sport NN 2026" (November–December, Nizhny Novgorod).

      In sports competitions, the following have been added: the Nizhny Novgorod Region Cup in automotive multi-discipline (May, Nizhny Novgorod, 100 participants), the Nizhny Novgorod Region Championship named after Chkalov (July–August, 350 participants), the Interregional competitions "For the Prizes of the Biathlon Federation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" (August, Dzerzhinsk, 50 participants), the All-Russian boxing competition "In Memory of MS of the USSR A.A. Polovinkin" (September, Bor, 100 participants), as well as a series of regional judo competitions: "Christmas Star" (January, Dzerzhinsk, 150 participants), dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day (February, Nizhny Novgorod, 200 participants), "Prince Vorotynsky" (March, Vorotynsky District, 300 participants), in memory of coach Gorokhov N.A. (April, Bor, 200 participants), dedicated to Cosmonautics Day (April, Nizhny Novgorod, 200 participants), Victory Day and Border Guard Day (May, Pavlovsky District, 150 participants), in memory of ZTR E.Yu. Shirshov (May, Dzerzhinsk, 100 participants), Unity Day (November, Pavlovsky District, 150 participants, and Nizhny Novgorod, 200 participants), in memory of coach Lazareva S.N. (November, Bor, 100 participants), as well as dedicated to the Day of FSB Employees (December, Nizhny Novgorod, 150 participants).
