A mother of many children was punished for drinking in front of her children in Sormovo.

      On August 13, 2026, at 13:12, Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod police held a 29-year-old mother of five children administratively liable for improper performance of parental duties. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.

      The reason was a video that appeared on social networks, showing a woman with two young children near Sormovsky Park in a state of severe alcohol intoxication. The footage shows the toddlers standing nearby while their mother barely keeps on her feet and tries to get into a taxi.

      Law enforcement officials found that three children aged 9, 8, and 1 had been removed from the family back in July after neighbors complained that they were left unsupervised in an apartment belonging to their mother's acquaintance. The children are currently in a social rehabilitation center and a hospital.

      The other two boys captured in the recording (5 years and 3 years old) live with their grandmother. However, that day their mother took them for a walk in the park, where she consumed alcohol.

      Two administrative protocols were drawn up against the woman for failing to fulfill her parental duties. The children were placed in a social rehabilitation center. The materials of the investigation will be forwarded to the authorized bodies to decide on the limitation of her parental rights.
