The "Russia in Miniature" park in Bor is closing until next year.
On August 8, 2026, at 16:15, Culture and Leisure: The "Russia in Miniature" Park (0+) in Bor is ceasing operations, announced the project's author Viktor Zhilenko on social media. The reason for this decision was the closure of the cable car, which has gone out of service.
Recall that the non-load-bearing cable was damaged on July 5 due to strong winds. At that time, several cabins were suspended over the Volga. All stranded passengers were safely evacuated. After that, it became unsafe to operate the cable car. It is expected to be restored no earlier than May 2027.
Due to the breakdown of the ferry, which was the main means of transporting tourists to the park, the number of visitors has significantly decreased. This led the administration to decide to temporarily close.
The park will operate until August 15, after which the exhibition will move to Crimea, the homeland of the project's ideological inspirer—businessman and philanthropist Viktor Zhilenko. It will return to its place in Bor in May of next year.
Recall that the park opened on June 25, and during this time, it has been visited by more than 100,000 people. The exhibition features 88 models of world-famous architectural monuments of Russia at a scale of 1:50. Among them are not only the most recognizable to tourists but also those known only to seasoned travelers. The project involved 60 specialists over five years. Visitors could see the Moscow Kremlin, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the sculpture "Motherland Calls!", as well as the Saratov State Conservatory named after L. V. Sobinov, the Leaning Tower of Syuyumbike in Kazan, the Volgograd Planetarium, and other attractions.
