The Center for the Development of Transport Systems, aimed at improving road safety and preventing accidents at railway crossings, has put into operation a new complex for photo and video recording of traffic violations at the Pravdinsk - Zavolzhye crossing. The functionality of the camera allows for recording passage through the crossing on a red traffic light, as well as violations of seat belt usage rules by drivers and passengers. In the first month of operation of the complex (July of this year), approximately 100 cases of passing through the crossing on a red signal have already been recorded.
Considering that railway crossings are areas of increased accident risk, equipping such sections with automated control systems is an important direction for preventing road traffic accidents. Currently, six complexes for photo and video recording of traffic violations are functioning at railway crossings in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, since the beginning of the year, there have been two road traffic accidents with casualties at railway crossings in the region.
The Center for the Development of Transport Systems urges road users to strictly adhere to traffic rules — this is a key condition for ensuring safety on the roads.
