A criminal case has been opened against a resident of Nizhny Novgorod for a "rubber" apartment in Kanavino.

      On July 22, 2026, at 15:37, Incidents In Nizhny Novgorod, a case of mass fictitious registration was discovered in a house on Lazo Street, reported the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the apartment of a 60-year-old resident, 14 foreigners were temporarily registered. As law enforcement officials found out, the woman acted knowingly—she received money for providing fake registration. At the same time, no one planned to actually move into the apartment. Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fictitious registration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at a place of stay in the Russian Federation). The resident of Kanavino is under a travel ban and is required to behave properly.
