The Nizhny Novgorod prosecutor's office is recovering damages to the budget amounting to 1.2 billion rubles.

      July 16, 2026 17:42 Economy The Prosecutor's Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has achieved through the courts the recovery of 550 million rubles in damages caused to budgets of various levels since the beginning of 2026. Claims for another 1.2 billion rubles remain under consideration by the courts, the supervisory agency reported. One of the results of the judicial work was the reimbursement of 132 million rubles in damages caused by illegal banking activities. In addition, the prosecutor's office recovered 130 million rubles from a self-regulating organization. As clarified by the agency, these funds are related to the damages caused by a company that was recognized as an unscrupulous contractor and bankrupt. The organization disrupted the construction of a kindergarten, sports facilities, and landscaping work. Furthermore, by court decision, 122 million rubles in unpaid taxes were recovered from the head of a commercial organization, the prosecutor's office added.
