This is stated in the report of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. From January to June, 14,135 crimes were registered in the region. This is 18% less than in the same period last year, when 17,239 cases were recorded. The decrease is noted both among crimes that require mandatory investigation and those that do not. The number of the former decreased by 28% — from 10,632 to 7,656, while the latter decreased by 1.9%, from 6,607 to 6,479. There were also fewer crimes against the person in the region. Their number decreased by 2.7% — from 1,875 to 1,824 cases. In particular, the number of murders decreased by 22.3% — from 94 to 73. The number of rapes decreased by 7.7% — from 39 to 36 cases. In addition, there were fewer cases of causing serious harm to health — by 20.8% (from 130 to 103) and minor harm to health — by 25.7% (from 257 to 191). At the same time, a slight increase in the number of beatings was recorded in the region. Such crimes were registered at 23 compared to 22 a year earlier, which is an increase of 4.5%.
