More than 42,000 people filled the stands at the Super Cup in Nizhny Novgorod.

      More than 42,000 people attended the OLIMPBET Super Cup of Russia (6+) match in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the regional sports ministry. The football stadium at Strelka hosted the match between Zenit and Spartak on July 18. The score was opened in the 25th minute by the red-and-white midfielder Christopher Martins. Spartak was close to victory, but in the eighth added minute, Alexander Sobolev converted a penalty and equalized the score to 1:1.

      The trophy holder was determined in a penalty shootout. Zenit proved to be more accurate, winning 4:2. The St. Petersburg club won the Russian Super Cup for the tenth time, strengthening its own tournament record.

      The match was attended by 42,139 fans, with the stands nearly completely filled. The ministry noted that the spectators created an atmosphere of a true football celebration. The department also emphasized that Nizhny Novgorod once again confirmed its readiness to host major sporting events and thanked the fans for their support of the teams and vibrant emotions.
