The Rospotrebnadzor has urged caution in garden plots, forests, and rural areas. According to the agency, infection can occur in several ways: through insect bites, contact with infected animals, and by consuming contaminated water or food. The main symptoms of tularemia include high fever, headache, weakness, and inflammation of lymph nodes with the formation of buboes. The most reliable protection against tularemia remains vaccination. Immunity after vaccination develops within 20-30 days and lasts for about five years. If necessary, revaccination is then carried out. Vaccinations are recommended for residents of areas with natural infection foci, as well as for hunters, fishermen, geologists, builders, agricultural workers, and owners of private homes in rural areas. In addition to vaccination, it is necessary to observe precautionary measures. When traveling outdoors, it is recommended to use repellents and insect-acaricide agents, wear closed clothing, and check for ticks every 1.5-2 hours. It is also advisable not to drink raw water from random sources. In summer houses, it is important to prevent the appearance of rodents, and during spring cleaning, it is better to use a mask and gloves. When processing hunted game, hygiene rules must be followed. If the first signs of illness appear after spending time outdoors, it is necessary to see a doctor as soon as possible and report any possible contact with sources or carriers of the infection.
