The channel of illegal migration was shut down in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On July 14, 2026, at 15:41, Incidents: Employees of the FSB of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, together with the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, suppressed the activities of a group that organized a channel for the illegal stay of migrants. According to the agency, one of the suspects, along with other currently unidentified accomplices, used a commercial firm under her control to obtain systematic income. Through the company, documents were issued to foreigners, allowing them to enter Russia and legally stay in the country under the guise of qualified specialists. Documents containing knowingly false information about the qualifications of migrants were sent to the migration department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region. Based on these documents, foreign citizens received work visas and work permits for a period of one year. However, in fact, they worked in professions that are not included in the list of specialties for qualified specialists. The investigative department of the FSB initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). Currently, the management is identifying possible accomplices and checking the involvement of the suspects in other episodes of illegal activities.
