On July 15, 2026, at 18:03, Society The off-site meeting of the commission of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma on patriotic education, youth policy, physical culture, and sports took place at the military-patriotic camp "I Want to Become a Paratrooper" in the Dalenekonstantinovsky district. The event was organized at the initiative of the speaker of the municipal parliament, Evgeny Chintsov. It was attended by deputies Vladimir Poddymnikov-Gordeev, Inna Vankina, Yuri Erofeev, Kirill Kartashev, Nikolai Sataev, and Vladimir Tarasov. The camp has been operating since 2006. Here, teenagers undergo military-patriotic training, engage in drill, physical, fire, and medical training, and can also make a solo parachute jump. Annually, the camp hosts four specialized shifts for 400 participants. The international shift brings together about 100 residents from the twin cities of Nizhny Novgorod and new regions of Russia.

Alexander Naidenov, the head of the Maxim Nastin Center for Military-Patriotic Education, conducted a tour of the camp territory for the deputies. The guests inspected the living quarters, military-sports town, obstacle course, airborne training complex, and areas for initial military training. During the visit, the deputies also watched a rehearsal for the concert marking the end of the second shift. Inna Vankina and Nikolai Sataev performed the song "From Heroes of Bygone Days" from the film "Officers." At the ceremonial formation, Evgeny Chintsov presented letters of gratitude from the chairman of the City Duma to the campers Ekaterina Tishkova, Kirill Dementyev, and Stanislava Bodina, who came to the camp for the fourth time. "For me, 'I Want to Become a Paratrooper' has become a real home. I am now the deputy commander of the platoon and I try to help the boys and girls who come for the first time to quickly become a real team," said Stanislava Bodina.

During the event, the campers demonstrated performances in hand-to-hand combat, acrobatics, strength gymnastics, and drill training. "There are no random people in the ranks today - only those who consciously choose the path of serving their country. I express my gratitude to the commanders and mentors who are raising true defenders of the Fatherland in the camp," said Evgeny Chintsov. Shift participant Ilya Ganin noted that over three weeks in the camp, he gained new experiences: he engaged in sports, mastered drill training, and understood the importance of teamwork. The chairman of the relevant Duma commission, Vladimir Poddymnikov-Gordeev, stated that the camp helps instill patriotism and develop responsibility in teenagers. Summarizing the meeting, Evgeny Chintsov emphasized the need to support the development of the camp: "This is a unique place, and it is the task of the entire deputy corps to help the camp develop."
