About 4,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents attended the "Knowledge" lectures on digital security.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a cycle of educational meetings of the Knowledge. Security project, which started in May, continues. The events of the Russian Society "Knowledge" correspond to the objectives of the national project "Youth and Children," initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

The project aims to equip the residents of the region—schoolchildren, students, working youth, and adults—with practical knowledge and skills that allow them to confidently counter cyber threats, financial fraud, cyberbullying, and recruitment attempts. The key task is to provide listeners with tools for safe behavior in the digital environment and to develop critical thinking.

"Our goal is to form safe internet behavior skills among the residents of the region, as well as to provide tools to counter modern threats, including terrorism, extremism, cyberbullying, and financial fraud. Already, almost 4,000 of our fellow citizens—schoolchildren, students, working youth, and adults—have participated in such educational meetings. Lectures will continue so that as many Nizhny Novgorod residents as possible acquire the necessary knowledge for a confident and safe life in the digital world," emphasized Alexander Mitrofanov, director of the branch of the Russian Society "Knowledge" in the region.

The project involves about half of all municipal formations in the region: Balakhna, Bogorodsk, Gorodets, Knyagininsky, Pavlovo, Dzerzhinsk, Kstovo, Perevoz, Kulebaki, Vorotynsk, Shatki, Semyonov, Volodarsky districts, as well as the urban districts of Bor, Vyksa, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Dzerzhinsk.

A total of 55 venues are involved—these are schools, colleges, technical schools, libraries, youth centers, and universities. Among the institutions of secondary vocational education are the Nizhny Novgorod Technical School of Information Technology and Law, the Pavlovo Automobile Mechanical Technical School named after I.I. Leps, the Nizhny Novgorod Automobile Transport Technical School, the Kstovo Oil Technical School named after B.I. Kornilov, and the Balakhna Technical School. The libraries of Nizhny Novgorod and the youth centers of the region—"Sputnik" in Dzerzhinsk, "Krug" in Bogorodsk, the youth center of Sarov, the OOC "Beryozka," and the "Dream" club of the Center for Extracurricular Work—have also become permanent venues for meetings.

The venues for meetings with lecturers from the Society "Knowledge" include the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering and Economic University, NNGU named after N.I. Lobachevsky and its branch in Arzamas, and the Nizhny Novgorod State Architectural and Construction University.

During the summer period, lectures are actively held in children's health camps as part of the "Holidays with Knowledge" project, implemented by the Russian Society "Knowledge"—"Energetik," "Chaika" (Kstovo), "Lazurny" (Vyksa), named after A.P. Gaidar (Kulebaki), "Zvezdochka," as well as in student camps—"Zarya" of NNGU and "Cheerful Shore" of NGPU. This allows for engaging youth in an informal setting and integrating educational blocks into the summer recreation program.

It should be noted that leading experts from the region are involved in the project, including lecturers from the Russian Society "Knowledge"—Professor of the Department of General Sociology and Social Work, Doctor of Sociological Sciences Dmitry Shpilev, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Security and Humanitarian Technologies Anton Shmelov, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Head of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law of the Faculty of Law Fyodor Sosenkov, Head of the Department of Cyberpsychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Valeria Demareva, employee of the "Avangard" Center, member of the Russian Military Historical Society, historian Ivan Dorofeev, director of the patriotic public organization "Russian Volunteer" Dmitry Abolduyev, Associate Professor of the Department of Physiology and Human Life Safety, Director of the Center for International Education and Cooperation of NGPU named after K. Minin Pyotr Chuprikov, and director of the Volunteer Center of NNGU Victoria Pigalina.

Experts discuss issues of countering terrorism and recruitment, paying attention to historical memory. A separate block is dedicated to information security and critical thinking. Great attention is paid to financial literacy and protection against fraud.

The project receives organizational support from the ministries of culture, youth policy, and education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the apparatus of the Anti-Terrorism Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Center for Psychological Safety and Prevention of Destructive Phenomena among Children and Youth in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the Volga-Vyatka GUB of the Bank of Russia and the regional Coordination Center for Countering the Ideology of Terrorism and Preventing Extremism.

Let us remind you that the Knowledge. Security project is a series of events organized by the Russian Society "Knowledge," aimed at preventing involvement in illegal and destructive activities, countering terrorism and extremism, financial fraud, as well as developing critical thinking and safe behavior skills. President of Russia Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that one of the most serious threats of the 21st century remains terrorism, noting that the methods of criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated and barbaric.

As part of the project implementation, ready-made methodological materials will be created, which will allow both lecturers of the Society "Knowledge" and those conducting preventive work to address the most relevant issues within this direction. They will be placed in the library of ready-made materials on the website of the Russian Society "Knowledge" in the near future. Additionally, films are being shot for different target audiences on the topic of safety.
