Two families from the Nizhny Novgorod region won 5,000,000 rubles.

      On July 9, 2026, 17:17 Society The Abumov/Odintsov families from Nizhny Novgorod and the Abramov family from Dzerzhinsk became the winners of the second season of the "This is a Family Matter" competition of the presidential platform "Russia - a Land of Opportunities." The competition is held as part of the national project "Family."

      As the organizers reported, the final took place on July 8 in Moscow. It involved 328 family teams from 85 regions of Russia. In total, the competition brought together 2,081 people, including 777 children, 648 parents, 459 grandparents, and 10 great-grandparents.

      The Ministry of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region reminded that the region was represented by 10 families in the final. Over four days, participants completed tasks on erudition and ingenuity, as well as demonstrated their ability to work as a team, listen to, and understand each other.

      According to the results of the competition, 60 families from 43 regions of the country became winners, including two from the Nizhny Novgorod region. Each family received a certificate for 5 million rubles to improve their living conditions. All finalists will also go on family trips.

      The Abramov family from Dzerzhinsk admitted that they did not expect to win.

      "We didn't expect to win at all; it's an incredible feeling of happiness. From the very first tasks, we realized that the competition is not just an opportunity to win the grand prize. It helps to pass on family traditions and values to children," said Ekaterina Abramova.

      According to her, the family spends holidays together, works in the garden, and travels, and considers the main outcome of their participation not the victory, but the opportunity to spend time together.

      The Abumov/Odintsov family from Nizhny Novgorod is united by a love for travel. They travel around the country by bicycle, SUP, kayak, car, and motorhome. The older generation of the family met in a tourist club, while the parents met during a car trip through the Bavarian Alps.

      "This is a well-deserved reward because we worked hard, and everything worked out. It was very interesting, exciting, and full of positive emotions. It doesn't matter where we are - at home, traveling, or at the dacha. The main thing is that we are together. This gives us strength and inspires us for new achievements," shared the winners.
