A map of innovative needs in the field of reproductive health will be created in Russia.

On July 9, 2026, at 11:20 AM, Society In Russia, for the first time, a map of innovative needs in the field of reproductive health will be created. It will become a public digital service that brings together doctors, medical organizations, developers, and investors for the faster implementation of new technologies in practice. The project was discussed at a meeting of the State Council's commission on the "Family" direction, chaired by the head of Mordovia, Artem Zdunov. The first working version of the service is expected to be operational by the fall of 2026. Specialists from all regions of the country will be able to use it without geographical restrictions.

As reported by the director of the corporate innovation development platform GenerationS, Ekaterina Petrova, the map will shorten the path from the emergence of a new technology to its application in medicine. According to her, there are often years, and sometimes even decades, between a doctor's request and the implementation of a development.

"We want to turn this logic upside down: to make it so that medical organizations themselves formulate the relevant request for innovations, and developers have the opportunity to test and implement their solutions not in a vacuum, but for a specific clinical task," noted Ekaterina Petrova.

It is expected that the map will not just be a database, but a digital service with feedback from doctors and patients. It will collect requests from medical organizations, help find scientific teams and startups for them, and also support pilot testing of new solutions in real clinical conditions. For each identified request, competitive selections are planned in the format of "challenge - solution," so that winners can move faster to implement their developments. Currently, GenerationS is already collecting initial requests from pilot medical centers and forming a technical assignment for the future service.

The meeting also discussed the situation in the field of demographics. According to participants, over the past ten years, the number of abortions by women's decision in Russia has decreased by 3.6 times, and thanks to pre-abortion counseling, more than 46 thousand pregnancies have been saved.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko reported that Russia has recorded the lowest infant mortality rate among large countries in the world. According to him, the development of the reproductive health protection system will also be supported by the new national project "Family." By 2030, it is planned to build more than 466 women's clinics in the country, modernize 145 perinatal centers and maternity hospitals, as well as 185 children's hospitals.

In addition, last year, nearly 18 million Russians underwent reproductive health check-ups. In Mordovia, one of the first in the country, a men's health department was opened, where more than 8 thousand patients have already received treatment.
