      Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate identified a fake driver's license belonging to a 21-year-old girl, reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The girl presented the inspectors with a fake license during the investigation of a traffic accident. Later, she admitted that she had purchased the license through a messenger and then received it at a pickup point.

      The seized license was sent for verification, which confirmed the fact of forgery. A criminal case was initiated under part 3 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The punishment is up to one year of restriction of freedom. The Nizhny Novgorod resident is currently under a travel ban. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that the production and use of fake official documents entail both criminal and administrative liability.
