VTB supported the new adaptation of the novel "War and Peace" by director Sergey Ursulyak.

      On July 8, 2026, at 14:00 Culture and Leisure Director Sergey Ursulyak began work on a multi-part film based on Leo Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace." This is the first domestic multi-part adaptation after the release of Sergey Bondarchuk's cinematic epic in the last 60 years. The project features performances by Sergey Makovetsky, Anna Mikhalkova, Alexey Serebryakov, Mikhail Porechenkov, Svetlana Kryuchkova, and others. The general sponsor of the adaptation is VTB Bank.

      "War and Peace" is one of the main, cornerstone works of Russian literature. As always, I have many young artists who will work alongside well-known professionals. We have Alexey Serebryakov, Sergey Makovetsky, Anna Mikhalkova, Yevgeny Tkachuk, Lika Nifontova, Alexander Baluev, Mikhail Porechenkov," commented director Sergey Ursulyak.

      For VTB, participation in the project has become a continuation of a long-term program to support and preserve cultural heritage. The bank has been helping to develop significant projects for over 20 years, including helping to modernize Russian classical literature.
