The Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod Region supported the holding of strategy sessions for the project "It's up to you!"
On July 8, 2026, at 15:19, Society Members of the Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod Region supported the proposal to hold strategic (project) sessions of the initiative budgeting project "You Decide!" in all municipal entities of the region during their regular meeting. The strategic sessions are proposed to be conducted with the participation of representatives from the legislative body, the public, non-profit organizations, initiative groups, and experts to discuss, select the best socially significant initiatives, and direct them to the competitive selection "You Decide!". The proposal was made by the public chambers of the Diveevo, Pavlovo, Sosnovsky, and Tonkin municipal districts and the city of Vyksa.
Nikolai Kostyukovich, Deputy Minister of Internal, Regional, and Municipal Policy of the region, noted that residents of Nizhny Novgorod participate in all stages of the "You Decide!" project, starting from identifying the problem, preparing documentation for the competitive selection, voting in support of the proposed initiatives, and ending with participation in the acceptance of facilities for operation.
"What is a project session? It is not just a discussion; it is thorough preparation and elaboration of all aspects: public assessment of effectiveness, social significance, and the degree of people's involvement. It is extremely important for each project to receive maximum support. In addition, people gain experience in civic construction, and the entire territory of the region develops. The proposal from local public chambers is very timely and productive. This year, we would like the sessions to take place everywhere," noted the Chairman of the Public Chamber, Roman Strongin.
In addition, public representatives recommended that the organizer of the competitive selection—the regional Ministry of Internal Regional and Municipal Policy—jointly with the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "House of National Unity," with the support of municipal self-government bodies, carry out methodological, organizational, and informational support for conducting project sessions.
Let us remind you that from July 1 to September 1, 2026, residents of Nizhny Novgorod can submit applications to participate in the gubernatorial initiative budgeting project "You Decide!". Thanks to the project, residents of the region have the opportunity to independently determine the priorities for the development and improvement of local territories, propose initiatives, and receive funding for their implementation.
On the website VAM.GOLOSZA.RU, residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can submit applications electronically in eight areas: "Our Roads," "Our Yard," "Sports for All!", "Happy Family," "Public Spaces," "Our Infrastructure," "Our Initiative," "Youth Policy."
The meeting also discussed the expert-analytical report of the Association "Independent Public Monitoring" (NOM) "The Electoral System of Russia on the Eve of the Elections of the State Duma of the IX Convocation: Responses to Challenges."
In an address to the Public Chamber, Alexander Brod, a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights and Chairman of NOM, noted that the institution of public observation and expert support for elections has entered a new stage of development, convincingly proving its effectiveness, demand, and ability to withstand the challenges of difficult times. Observers and experts today not only perform prescribed functions—they form their own agenda, generate innovative solutions, and take responsibility for the quality of the electoral process.
"There are many tasks, but I am convinced: Nizhny Novgorod region will cope with these challenges with honor. The region has been demonstrating the cohesion of political and civil forces and a high level of expert work for several years. I am confident that this spirit will be maintained in the current campaign," noted Alexander Brod. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
